Commercially pure titanium, commonly known as Titanium Grade 2, is unalloyed titanium. When compared to other CP grades, Titanium Grade 2 Fasteners have a higher amount of components like iron and oxygen. These two components are used in Titanium Gr.2 Stud Bolts to provide outstanding corrosion resistance, great formability, and moderate strength. Heat exchangers are where titanium Gr. 2 bolts are most frequently used. A minimum of 275 Mpa is required for CP grade 2's tensile strength.

The Titanium Grade 2 Screws are an excellent candidate for use in industries including chemical, marine, aerospace, and medical applications because they have exceptional mechanical and physical qualities. Titanium Gr. 2 Washers are frequently used in desalination plant tubing and tube heaters, electroplating, airframe skins, ductwork, brackets, galley equipment, and chemical processing condensers, evaporators, and reaction vessels. The Titanium Grade 2 Bolts must be annealed for roughly two hours at a temperature between 1103 °F and 1400 °F. The alloy is then air cooled in order to release stress.
Grades of austenitic stainless steel can be used as a comparison for the machinability of cp titanium grade 2. You can process Titanium Grade 2 Fasteners by utilising a high feed rate, a slow speed, and a lot of cutting fluid. Although chipping can be used to machine cp titanium grade 2, safety precautions must be used because titanium chips are very flammable. The Titanium Gr.2 Nuts can be hot rolled, hot forged, or hot pressed. At room temperature, this alloy can also be stretched, bent, stamped, stretched, and drawn.
Although both grades, CP Titanium Grade 2 and Grade 5, tend to offer exceptional resistance to corrosion with regards to chlorine and chlorine-containing compounds as well as salt water or brine, the alloy for grade 5 is slightly resistant as compared to Grade 2 Titanium Screws. As a result, titanium grade 2 is more affordable than grade 5 due to its low alloying content.
