Titanium Grade 5, commonly known as Ti-6Al-4V or Ti 6-4, is frequently used to denote an alloy's chemical make-up. Chemically, the main alloying metals in titanium grade 5 fasteners are about 90% titanium, 6% aluminium, and 4% vanadium. The Titanium Gr.5 Stud Bolt is strengthened by the alloying components included. Around 138 Ksi is the tensile strength of Ti-6al-4v bolts. The thermal conductivity is about 60% lower in titanium grade 5 alloy due to a high alloying content.

The Ti-6al-4v Bolts are more expensive than CP titanium grade 2 due to their high alloy composition. By making the material in the alloy's matrix harder, the addition of aluminium and vanadium enhances both its physical and mechanical qualities. In addition to these, titanium grade 5 comprises a maximum of 0.25 percent iron and 0.02 percent oxygen. High corrosion resistance, outstanding strength, low elastic modulus, good weldability, and heat treatability are all characteristics of titanium gr. 5 stud bolts.
Since grade 5 titanium can resist high temperatures, it can be used in a 400°C or 750°F temperature range. The aerospace sector is the one that uses Titanium Grade 5 Bolts the most frequently. Grade 5 titanium is well suited for use in aerospace applications like discs, compressor blades, rings, pressure vessels, airframe components, rocket engine cases, helicopter rotor hubs, and critical forgings that need high strength-to-weight ratios.
By heating the fasteners, the Ti-6al-4v Screws are heat-aged. The Titanium Gr.5 Bolts are given this heat treatment, which helps them achieve even higher strengths and makes them stronger. A substance that is biocompatible is titanium grade 5. Consequently, the Titanium Gr. 5 Nuts are suitable for use in medical implants. Because of its superior mechanical and physical qualities, metal can be joined to bones and other tissue.
The Titanium Grade 5 Fasteners exhibit comparable corrosion resistance to salt water and chloride compounds to CP titanium grade 2, though grade 2 exhibits marginally superior resistance. The workhorse alloy of the titanium industry is known as the alpha-beta alloy and is titanium Gr.5 Washers.
