Hastelloy c276 rod's strong corrosion resistance in both oxidising and reducing situations is one of the advantages of utilising it. The 2.4819 Alloy C 276 is known to be very resistant to chlorine-related stress corrosion cracking due to the high amounts of both the elements, molybdenum and chromium, as well as the addition of tungsten. Steels made of carbon and alloy cannot tolerate the corrosive conditions found in deep wells because they frequently fail due to stress corrosion cracking or sulphide stress cracking.
