The austenitic class of Stainless Steels Includes Screws made of 304 grade stainless steel. These fasteners' main alloyants are 8% nickel and 8% chromium. The 304 Stainless Steel Wood Screws also contain a maximum of 0.08% carbon in addition to these alloying components. The SS 304 Csk Screw is not only one of the most popular fasteners, but it is also incredibly adaptable. Since 304 grade stainless steel is easily formed and welded, a wide variety of fasteners can be produced using it.

Although Grade 304 Stainless Steel Sheet Metal Screws are thought to be marine grade and can be used in marine or sea water applications (especially in environments that contain chlorine), they are thought to be less desirable than stainless steel grade 316 because they contain less molybdenum.
The issue of galling is one of the main issues with threaded fasteners. In general, the 304 stainless steel socket head cap screws' chromium content promotes the development of a passivated oxide layer. Corrosion is prevented on the 304 Stainless Steel Tek Screws by this passivated oxide coating. But with time, the 304 Stainless Steel Self Tapping Screws' passivated layer wears away, allowing the metal threads to come into touch with one another and produce friction, which in turn leads to galling. When one threaded fastener is tightened and loosened against another, galling happens to stainless steel fasteners.
These 304 Series Ultra Coated Stainless Steel Screws have a thin zinc film coating to prevent galling. When the zinc coating on the stainless steel self-drilling screw is applied, it creates a barrier that prevents corrosion and galling while also giving the screws good toughness.
Using anti-seize lubricants on Type 304 Stainless Steel Screws is another way to stop galling. Anti-seize not only facilitates the installation of SS 304 Grade Screws but also improves corrosion resistance, extending the useful life of the SS 304 Self Tapping Screw.
