In addition to these characteristics, the 304 grade is renowned for its exceptional formability and weldability. The Type 304 Washer can therefore be produced in any shape that is needed. Due to the inner hole and the outer circumference, washers are typically made in the shape of a disc and have two diameters. While disc-shaped washers are frequently used in a variety of industries, other shapes are also common.
Simple Flat Washers made of metal, commonly referred to as ring washers, are frequently used to distribute the weight of screwed fastenings. This stainless steel flat washer can also be utilised in situations when the hole is larger than the fixing nut. A 304 star washer is created with radially extending inward or outward serrations. The bearing surface is cut into by these serrations. When used with a supple substrate, such as aluminium or plastic, the star washer performs better. In fact, because it can withstand rotation better than a plain 304 stainless washer used on a hard surface, it frequently functions well as a lock washer.
