The size range of nuts covered by ASTM F594 Nut Dimensions is from 14" to about 112". The ASTM F594 Nuts specification includes a number of alloys that are created for uses that generally require corrosion resistance. Twelve austenitic grades, two ferritic grades, four martensitic grades, and one precipitation-hardening grade of stainless steel are all included in the ASTM F594 Hex Nuts specification.
Table of Content
The conditions under which these alloys should be used include cold working, age hardening, hardening, and tempering. The ASTM F594 Washers can be treated with pickling and passivation or left plain if the customer prefers. The qualities of F594 stainless steel washers often rely on the grade of stainless steel utilised.
For instance, ferritic stainless steel ASTM F594 stainless steel nuts are robust, magnetic, and have a respectable level of corrosion resistance. However, austenitic stainless steels made to ASTM F594 specifications have high tensile strength, strong ductility, good resistance to corrosion, and are non-magnetic by nature. Depending on the heat treatment used to these fasteners, ASTM F594 specification nuts constructed from precipitation-hardening grade stainless steels may be classified as semi-austenitic or martensitic.

A Minimum values except where shown as maximum or as a range.
B legend of conditions:
AF – Headed and rolled from annealed stock and then reannealed
AH – Solution annealed and age hardened after forming
CW – Headed and rolled from annealed stock thus acquiring a degree of cold work. Sizes 0.75inch and larger may be hot worked and solution annealed.
H – Hardened and tempered at 1050°F (565°C) minimum.
HT – Hardened and tempered at 525°F (274°C) minimum.
SH – Machined from strain hardened stock or cold worked to develop the specific properties.
C The yield and tensile strength values for full size products shall be computed by dividing the yield and maximum tensile load value by the stress area for the product size and thread sizes determined in accordance with Test Methods F606.
D Yield strength is the stress at which an offset of 0.2 & gauge length occurs.
